Q: If one of your standard bikes is not in stock, how long will it take to manufacture?
A: CMW manufactures 3 lines of motorcycles. The Pro Street, the Chopper and the Ol Skool. We can typically deliver one of these in virtually any paint scheme in 30-45 days.
Q: Is CMW a licensed motorcycle manufacturer?
A: Yes, CMW will deliver your motorcycle with a 17 digit VIN number. It is DOT approved, inspected and ready to be titled.
Q: Why is it important to purchase a motorcycle from a licensed manufacturer?
A: Lower insurance rates, higher resale value. Additionally a manufacturer must meet Federal safety standards. In other words the MVA does not consider the motorcycle "home made"
Q: How long will it take to build a "one of a kind" full custom motorcycle?
A: The answer to this question really depends on the design time, fabrication, as well as parts availability. In the past we have been able to deliver these motorcycles in 3 months or less.
Q: How long has CMW been in business?
A: CMW officially opened it's doors in May 2001 on West Nursery Road in Linthicum, Md. We moved to our current location on Aviation Blvd in Glen Burnie, Md. in November of 2003.
Q: Does CMW do all painting in house?
A: Yes. All paint work is done in house. This allows us to maintain strict quality control, control costs and keep our delivery commitments to our customers.
Q: Does CMW build their own motorcycle frames?
A: CMW builds our own Chopper frames. We are in the process of designing a single side swing-arm, right side drive soft-tail frame.
Q: Why would you bring your Harley-Davidson to CMW for service?
A: Our mechanics specialize in HD repair and maintenance. Additionally, we can typically turn around most services the same day.
Q: If I don't care about how much horsepower my bike makes should I still put it on the DYNO?
A: Yes. The Dyno will provide you with lots of valuable information. Horsepower and torque are only 2 areas of interest. Your air/fuel ratio is critical to the general performance of your motorcycle. The DYNO will detail this for you.
Q: Will a DYNO run damage my motorcycle?
A: A DYNO run will put less stress on your motorcycle than taking your motorcycle to the red line on the street.
Q: Does CMW do all fabrication in house?
A: With very few exceptions, CMW does ALL custom fabrication in house. This includes fenders, struts, sissy bars, handle bars, exhausts etc. Additionally, all special parts that are necessary to complete a custom project are manufactured in our shop.
Q: Does CMW offer Riding apparel?
A: Yes. We have riding apparel in stock and can source most popular merchandise in short order.
Q: Does CMW detail motorcycles?
A: YES. Please call for our specials.
Q: Does CMW offer Chrome exchange?
A: Yes. We have a significant amount of chrome exchange in stock. This includes switch housings, levers, master cylinders, lower legs, and primary covers.
Q: Does CMW offer paint exchange?
A: Yes. Please call for current availability. Due to heavy demand this inventory changes rapidly
Q: How quickly can I get a full custom paint job done?
A: Most custom paint can be turned around in 30 days or less. Please call to check the schedule.
Q: Why would I buy a CMW motorcyle instead of a Big Dog , Iron horse or another limited production motorcycle?
A: You need to make an appointment and visit or facility to understand why.
Q: Does CMW offer their customers a motocycle pick up service?
A: Yes. Please call our shop for details.
Q: Can I rent out the CMW DYNO trailer for special events?
A: Yes. Call for our various options. It is a great addition to any motorcycle event!
Q: What is the least expensive custom motocycle that CMW manufactures?
A: CMW manufactures a basic custom chopper for $23,500. You will be surprised at how much mototcycle you get for this investment.
